just like the glorious northern star you guided me
shining a light of pure tranquility
to a secret place where no one else could go

three full days of festivities, three full kilograms earned?

first day's food always very boring (coz we always eat leftovers from the night before), but second day.. i'll tell you, that's the day where the stomach of all thirty of us (even more if you include the visitors) opens like a dynamo, when everyone can always eat at least 2 full bowls of my grandma's super fantastic prawn mee. and my mom (who rarely, if not never cooks), made her laksa for all the visitors who came on the third day.

*grinz* food, glorious food!

and of course, the whole dressing up thing! nana jie and i appeared in cheong sams on the first day, and bryan and co came out on full force on 2nd day, dressed up as indians! grandma's asking me to don my burmese costume next year.

my question: do they even have a traditional costume in the first place?

we played taboo, did the annual movie ritual (seriously, the movies we watched just gets lamer and lamer each year!), played mahjong, gossiped, ate all the bak kwa (the whole tub full of it), sat together to eat prawn mee together, laughed, all the stuff lah. it's a good thing that both our grandparents are like the eldest in their families, so they always have people coming to visit at shunfu. all we have to do, is just sit there.

oh ya, we did the family portrait. but the moral of it all, is that you can never trust maids to handle these shots. praying and hoping that the photos that bryan and eugenia took are so much better.

josephine and co came over on the third day. so love having her around!! very surprised that she could get along with papajoe, pi-kia and the diva. keryn, samuel and emily were supposed to turn up, but they all became no shows.. missing out on the little girl's company.

but i'm glad they missed out on the 15 moons, right guys?

let the festivities continue! (at least, for me ya?)
