all i know is i'm lost without you
i'm not gonna lie
how i'm gonna strong without you
i need you by my side
if we ever said we'll never be together
in the end and we wave goodbye
don't know what i'll do
i'm lost without you

was supposed to meet up with stewart today but he couldn't make it in the end. went to teach, and bumped into jerms in the end.. i was soooo tired that i almost didn't see him, and he found me sooooooo familiar but he can't remember who i was.

talk about strange.

anyway, found out that i might have to switch elsewhere for lunch on friday, which is perfectly fine with me. if you ask me, i'd rather have hawker food and have all of my girls together at 1 place, than going somewhere "high-budget" and not being able to have all around. so loretta's gonna think of somewhere we can go, that has "low-budget" food and yet we can all be there.

i think she feels the same as i do about friday anyways.

went back to shunfu today. 1st person, or rather, living thing that greeted me was the dog. found out from ah gong that she already could smell my presence from downstairs.. they knew that i was downstairs when she started barking non-stop at the door. and her excitement when i stepped in.. talk about being loved. it was myself, anna, her mom and my grandfolks. we did the usual.. eat, eat, eat. talk talk talk. the whole place is a mess right now because of the renovation of the kitchen. pots and pans everywhere and the storeroom is filled with so much junk! even the spare bedroom was filled with stuff that i've never knew existed. (basketballs????)

there was this heated argument when i stepped in. ok, not exactly heated. my grandma was complaining to me about the fact that my grandpa was too lazy to put the bottle that he took out from the fridge, and hence, depriving me of the chance to drink nice cold plain water since i just stepped in. and he looked at me, wriggled his fingers and told me she was crazy. then my grandma turned to me and gave me a rough idea of how much energy kaile (the dog) had used by just barking non-stop at the contractors that came in to do the kitchen.

dyfunctional? no. just absolutely nice.

i can just imagine what may will say when she steps in on saturday:

"ah gong, ni hen chou~!"

and the dog just jumping all over everyone, thrilled at the prospect of having more people around.

welcome to my family, ladies and gentlemen.

and this is just the maternal side of it.

saw an email today from my uncle derek telling me that his mom (my dad's mom) has already left boston and is on the way to taiwan. finally, back to the place that my paternal grandma loves. my dad will probably be planning a trip to go to taiwan pretty soon, and i'm just wondering if i should just happily tag along.

probably not. i know my dad will go though. poor grandma really. if my maternal grandma is in true bliss, my paternal grandma is in true agony. i know she's at crossroads about her decision to say in taiwan or to travel back to boston. but i know, in the end she might just probably be staying at taiwan. these are 2 ladies with 2 direct contrasting personalities, and destinies. my maternal grandma doesn't need us to look after her, and well, is in no lack of love that sort; my paternal grandma is lonely, confused and at times helpless since she isn't in the best of health. sometimes i feel as though she's caught in between in a lot of situations yet she can't do anything about it.

such are the complications of life. yet we must all face it.

isn't it better to be simple sometimes? i'm not sure.
