last evening went back to grandma's for dinner. of course, we had a game of mahjong. what a long game it was. we played all the way from 6pm till 10 plus, when bryan offically declared himself bankrupt from all the chips. bryan & i were planning to meet up with the rest of our cuzzies for supper. we hadn't gone for prata for the longest time, so it was jln kayu, here we come~!

so we went. may and i, bryan, eugenia, alan & anna & my grandpa. and you know what? we had so much fun! my grandpa hardly ever comes out with us (i think never ever!) but we know he loves to eat, so we dragged him along. he didn't want to initially, but changed his mind after he found out that i was treating. but i knew he enjoyed himself a lot.

we had a whooping amount of prata really. there were the normal plain ones, the banana cheese pratas, the ice cream pratas (my favourite), the paper pratas (not tissue eugenia!), the garlic cheese (which tasted like burnt paper), the indian rojak, our dinosaur drinks... there was so much on the table! anna joked that we looked like a bunch of hungry souls who hadn't eaten in our lifetime. it was just too bad that the rest couldn't come. we had so much fun, laughing and joking about lots of things. and of course, the gifts that we gotten for eugenia & alan's birthday. i still can't believe that they share the same birthday! now i have NO EXCUSE to forget about their birthdays anymore! but hey, i'm glad alan liked the shirt, and eugenia loved her watch. it's just nice to see the smiles on their faces. knowing that you made people happy.

i think we should do this more often. maybe not jln kayu, but other places. think it's the ambience of being together, talking about all our stuff, joking about each other, teasing each other and all. it's with family members when you can afford to be real earnest and not be afraid of judgement. thank goodness we have our holidays coming up. even though bryan's sch starts earlier than me, and may & i are thinking of getting jobs, we'd still find time for these bonding period. i think the older we grow, the more we learn to appreciate each other.

yesterday night was just something that i needed. now, it's time for me to embrace my books.
