all i know is i'm lost without you
i'm not gonna lie
how i'm gonna strong without you
i need you by my side
if we ever said we'll never be together
in the end and we wave goodbye
don't know what i'll do
i'm lost without you

a bee juz flew pass me. buzz buzz buzz.

its when you see me write things like this when you'd realise, that i've clearly gone out of my mind. but you know what? this morning i realised, you just gotta keep having faith in the lord. just keep praying & things will work all out for you.

one of the things that have been going through my mind these past few weeks was my plans for the 2 months after my exams. after sooooooooo long, i finally have gotten the two months break that i've been yearning for. i wanted to travel, to visit some places, but money's tight. and with my future education still uncertain, there was no way i could be thinking of going anyway to have a good break unless it comes with a real good cause. but i knew that two of the places that definitely would have my passport stamped were shanghai & bangkok. the best solution that i could think of, was to either,

a) get all the travelling done by 3rd wk of November, and concentrated on teaching (having lots and lots of makeup lessons) & doing those part-time jobs during the holiday/shopping season (i'm already on the lookout);
b) get shanghai & bangkok done by November, and hopefully go Boston in December (which seems to blinking away from my eyes every single day).

when i found out that bryan, pearlyn, my 2 aunts, and grandma were going on 30th Oct, i was really keen to go with them. but, as luck would have it, i found out from my lecturer that i had to be in s'pore to prepare for the poly forum. plus, my piano exam on the 30th! and also, all the teaching that i'd have to do for those students of mine who'd be flying away in december. which only meant that i couldn't join my family in november and would go in december on my own instead. this also implied 3 things:

a) i couldn't work during the holidays if i'm going in december.
b) i was going to be so bored & lonely in shanghai.
c) i can say bye bye to boston in december.

big bummer. but i prayed for the chance to be able to join them, and even when they had booked their own tickets and everything was finalized, i still didn't give up. juz kept praying about it.

but you know what? things have turned for the better.

woke up this morning with a msg from my lecturer saying that she's gotten the dates mixed up. turns out that since i'm in SBM, my exams finish earlier than the rest of the campus, and students from all the other schools only have their exams offically over on the 6th Nov. so preparations for the forum should only start on the 8th. then, i was informed that primary school students would be having exams on the 1st week of November. which means, most of my students (having typically kiasu parents) will be stopping piano lessons in 1st week of November. which could only mean 1 thing: i have the 1st week of november free!

i quickly called my mother in shanghai to tell her about it, and told her that i would be asking my aunt if i could get tickets to go shanghai on the 31st, and return back to Singapore on the same day as my family. my mother initially said no to me going, if i have to pay $900 for the ticket (since we were going to fly by SQ). i said ok, and i checked with my aunt. then, god's grace and love worked again. my aunt told me that one of their friend, (whose name is, strangely, ruth), would be keen in joining me to go on the 31st to Shanghai, and return on the 7th as well. that meant, my aunt could purchase the tickets at a promotional price and tickets to go shanghai at a cheaper price of $600 plus.

god is so good. he heard my prayer. though maybe now, i might not be able to go boston in december, but i'd be back home for 6 weeks, to have a well deserved break, spend time with my friends & family, at the same time (hopefully) earning extra income for myself. and i won't be lonely & bored in shanghai now because i'd have company!

*grinz* so don't give up praying for anything. even at the very last minute, things will turn around for the better. it happened to me.

amen!!
